OVERVIEW:
The Clinical & Education Services Manager will maintain the company’s clinical excellence through educational programs, monitoring clinical quality and regulatory requirements, as well as involvement with local and state clinical and education program oversight agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and maintain a quality EMS education program including initial education, continuing education, and community education.
· Monitor and maintain all internal and external education programs to ensure all elements of compliance at the appropriate level (state, federal, county, etc.)
· Maintain personal and organizational clinical expertise appropriate for EMS industry
· Monitor patient care reports and clinical services for appropriate treatment, trends, and educational needs.
· Generate analytic reports for individual clinical employees and department managers indicating the level of clinical service being provided, as well as compliance with skill and treatment thresholds.
· Develop instructor resources for internal educational courses (IC, PALS, ACLS, BTLS/PHTLS, etc.)
· Responsible for insuring financial stability of the Medstar education programs.
· Manage and maintain Virtual Solutions Manager (VSM)
· Operate as Training Center Coordinator for company as an American Heart Association (AHA) Community Training Center
· Capable of effectively teaching EMT and Paramedic programs
· Maintain company policies and procedures
· Lead CAAS accreditation process for company
· Maintain appropriate documentation for all areas of responsibility
· Respond to, document and ensure follow-up to all service inquires received from internal and external customers in a timely manner.
· Able to work as a Paramedic when operations require additional resources
· Lead Compliance Auditing program in conjunction with Billing Manager.
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
· Ability to work as an independent team member.

SCOPE:
· The Clinical Education Manager is accountable for ongoing education and clinical excellence.
· Participates in associations that can foster existing and new educational opportunities and industry expertise.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Overall the purpose of this position is to improve the quality of clinical care and educational services provided by Medstar Ambulance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university, with a bachelor’s degree to be completed within two years (required)
· Minimum five years EMS field experience as a Paramedic (required)
· Minimum one year of EMS teaching experience (required)
· Certified Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services Practical Evaluator (required)
· Michigan Paramedic Licensure (required)
· Michigan Instructor/Coordinator Licensure (required)
· Basic Life Support Instructor Certification (required)
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (required)
· Demonstrated successful EMT or Paramedic course coordination as the instructor/coordinator of record (required)
· Extensive knowledge of State of Michigan EMS Education Program Policies and Procedures (required)
· Extensive knowledge of Michigan Proprietary School Unit requirements for EMS Education programs, experience in Proprietary School Unit accreditation
· Extensive knowledge of local medical control protocols (required)
· Extensive knowledge of EMS legislation (required)
· Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals (required)
· Solid computer skills (MS Office Suite) - (required)
· Strong grammar skills and/or the ability to check all work online (required)
· Driven to accomplish assigned tasks (required)
· Excellent communication skills (including verbal and written) - (required)
· Ability to build and sustain effective interpersonal relationships (required)
· Strong organizational abilities (required)
· Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification (preferred)
· Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) and/or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Instructor Certification (preferred)
· Experience with developing and maintaining computer databases (preferred)
